MANDATORY REQUEST SHOW

Weekdays 11am-1pm
Pamela Stone

I was born in a small town in...wait. Never mind. You don't really want to know all of that stuff. You're just reading about me to see what I'm like. I'm 34 and have been in radio for more than 10 years. Now I co-own Mandatory FM and it's the coolest thing since ball point pens. Which is funny since I love office supplies. If you ever see my desk, you'll find the largest assortment of pens, pencils, sharpies, highlighters and other necessary desk-type things in every color and style. And don't try to take any of them without me knowing. I will come hunt you down and get my pen back.

I have to give John Hollinger some credit, not all of it but some if it, for teaching me so much about the music. This music. The kind we play. You know, independent singers and songwriters that frequently don't have the support they need. It's what I live for and that's why I'm here. It's all about the music.

I'm also here because I discovered that radio is something I'm good at. Well, I'm good at other things too like taking long naps but couldn't ever figure out a way to get paid for it. I get to be creative in radio. I get to talk a lot, which I'm also good at, and I get to have a lot of fun! Hey, it IS hard work, don't get me wrong, but I wouldn't want to be doing anything else in the world!

You know how when you open up a cd and the artist or band has a list of thanks to all the people that have helped them along the way? Well, let me tell you how crazy it is to actually see your own name in that list. I've been thanked (as well as John and Shayne) by a few people along the way for playing their tunes and now I want to return the favor...

Thanks to John Hollinger for the opportunity to be a part of this amazing radio station. Major thanks to the garden gnome that lives in the front flowerbed at my house who watches over things. Thanks to Larry Joe Taylor and family for all the amazing musical experiences I've been able to be a part of AND for all of the knowledge I have gained about the music and the business. Beer-induced thanks go out to the Tuesday Fun Day Bunch for weekly relief! Thanks to my Mandatory Request-Makers - I couldn't do it without your calls! Thank you to all of the listeners that keep our station going and most of all, thanks to all the talented singers and songwriters out there who put their heart and soul into creating music. I will always promote you to the best of my ability.
